Remote learning

We are well in to our second week of remote learning. We are all delighted with the level of engagement in every class and we thank you for all your support and co-operation in getting Seesaw and Google Classroom up and running at home. We are ever so proud of our school community. There is so much good work happening in every room and it is wonderful to see all those faces at our class zooms!

You may well have seen in the media the proposed reopening for children with additional needs. There is very little operational information available from the DES and we are waiting on clarification on a number of outstanding issues.  From what information we do have it only applies to ‘children with significant additional needs‘ within a specific set of criteria.  Unfortunately, that is all the information that has been provided. We will be in contact once we have clarification and workable guidance from the DES. In the meantime we ask you to bear with us and to continue to work with us through Seesaw and our live classes.

There are a number of iPads that are still available for loan from the school. All we ask is that you take care of the devices and return them when it is time to do so. If you would like a loan of an iPad, please email iconnolly@davidstownps.ie to arrange collection.

I will send out a survey later in the week to get feedback on your experience of remote learning so far.

We hope that you are all keeping safe and well.

Le gach dea-ghuí,

Ita
