A Parents Guide to Close Contacts in School
Full Risk Assessment (1) - printed for staff

With the news that schools were going to be closed, we were anxious to continue with teaching and learning in our school community. We really want to keep the connection between home and school. This page aims to let you know the up-to-date information and hopefully answer any questions that you may have.

Engage with us through SeeSaw as much as you can. Everyone has been sent a login code. If you are missing yours, please let us know.

We completely understand that not every family will be in a position to participate in Home Learning activities. As a staff, we understand this and value every family’s decision equally. There is no obligation on families to complete the activities we will suggest. Everyone’s main focus should be on keeping safe and healthy.

If your class teacher hasn’t heard from you yet on SeeSaw we will try to get in touch with you to see if you are ok and if there is anything we can do to assist you. We’d love to see at least one piece of work uploaded each week.

How should I structure my child’s day?
Remember that structure comes a distant second place to making sure you are feeling well both physically and mentally. Please don’t put pressure on yourself or your children.

I don’t have textbooks!
Our teachers would have sent home the majority of textbooks on the Thursday that we had to close. We are no longer allowed access the school so we’ve created a list of where you can find the school books online.

We understand that most houses have possibly one laptop or tablet and that it is a shared device among a number of people. The great thing about SeeSaw is that it can be accessed easily by smartphone and requires minimal internet. It can be difficult to write on it but a stylus helps. These can be bought for less than 5 euro. Should the closures be extended, we will look to see how we can best help our school communities. We will send out another survey soon to get feedback and see how everything is going.

If you would like some ideas for additional work or games and activities to try, click here or check out our Facebook page for links.
