We were very sad to hear today of the passing of Master O’Shea. The Board of Management and Staff of Scoil Mhuire wish to convey our condolences to the family and friends of Master O’Shea. We thank him for his many years of service to the school and community.
Speaking with Master O'Shea always reminded me of this poem.
The village all declared how much he knew;
‘Twas certain he could write, and cipher too;
Lands he could measure, terms and tides presage,
And even the story ran that he could gauge.
In arguing too, the parson owned his skill,
For e’en though vanquished, he could argue still;
While words of learned length and thundering sound
Amazed the gazing rustics ranged around,
And still they gazed, and still the wonder grew
That one small head could carry all he knew.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

Huge thanks to Elaine for organising the recent Craft Fair which raised €400 for the school! This money will go towards the creation of our Nurture Room.
You all also raised €500 for the school to spend on books! This was raised through our recent book fair and will be used to purchase class novels and lovely new books for our class libraries.
Many thanks to everyone who supported the Craft and Book Fair. It is very much appreciated. ... See MoreSee Less

Congratulations to our Concern Debating team, Adam, Callum and Hollie, who won their debate today against a superb Bree NS team.
Huge thanks to their classmates in 4th, 5th and 6th who helped research the topic as well as prepare them for rebuttal.
Davidstown proposed that primary school pupils should be banned from owning a mobile phone. You can imagine how they felt proposing that one!
The team learned a huge amount from their first debate and we wish the Bree NS team the very best in their next debate. Well done everyone!
