World Water Day

World Water Day was celebrated in Scoil Mhuire on March 23rd. World Water Day is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. Today, there are over 663 million people living without a safe water supply close to home. As a Green-School, our work on the theme of Water is helping to spread awareness of the Global Goals and of water issues locally and across the world. A great way to highlight this was our walk for water today. The walk signified the average distance of 6k walked in countries with issues of water scarcity by women and children to access clean water. Our pupils carried something on our walk to symbolise this. We then had a scavenger hunt all based on water facts. Well done and many thanks to Ms Crean and our Green Schools Committee for organising our water events today.
