Dance with Becci
The taster workshops that Becci did with the school were superb. The workshops came about through a process of consultation with the pupils in the whole school. They choose to focus on dance as an activity to explore, using movement from sport as inspiration. Becci will be back to do a series of five workshops in the month of May. At the end of the five weeks we will have performance!
Drumming Workshop
Drumming, percussion and composing was the other area chosen by our pupils to explore in our Creative Schools Initiative. We will have two whole school workshops in May. The boys and girls have an idea that the percussion created in the workshops would be used to accompany the dance that we create with Becci. Isn’t that a fabulous idea!
The entire cost of these workshops is covered by the Creative Schools grant that the school received from the Arts Council of Ireland. We will receive a further €2000 next year.
